This is the OneTIME Tool 641SS Square – 6" in MDF Storage Case Only.
Our Go-To Squares, Reimagined for Functionality and Precision.
Designed To Be Everything But Ordinary. While continuing the tradition of quality and accuracy that has made Woodpeckers precision squares the standard for woodworkers, the 641SS and 1281SS push what is possible in tool design. Equipped with a sleek, adjustable stainless steel blade, these multifunctional precision squares enable faster and more accurate measuring, marking, and scribing. They are simply some of the best squares we have ever made.
This Stainless Steel Blade is a Game Changer. Completely crafted within the Woodpeckers factory, each blade is laser cut from hardened stainless spring steel and precision milled and inspected on state-of-the-art CNC equipment for uncompromising accuracy. Next, they are sanded, brushed, blasted, leveled and passivated for further corrosion protection. This process yields a blade with a satin smooth, non-glare finish and high contract laser engraved scale markings that will still stand up to the harshness of daily shop use – all while maintaining an accuracy far exceeding what’s typical on the market.
With its thin edge and slim profile, the 1/16” blade thickness enables for more accurate marking along each of its four, easily readable 1/32” increment scales. The 1281SS features a 12” outside and 10 ½” inside scale, and boasts a 6 ½” scale along the length of the handle, including a 2” end scale. While the 641SS features a 6 ¼” outside and 5 ¼” inside scale, a 3” handle, and 1 ¼” end scale, perfect for machine set up.
The aircraft grade aluminum handle design allows the square to lay flat on a work surface, or stand upright on its own. On the 1281SS, each handle cheek is 3/8” thick by 1 ½” wide with a length of 7 5/8”. The 641SS cheeks are ¼” thick by 1” wide and 6 ¾” long.
Scribing Lines, Kicked Up A Notch. Perhaps the most eye-catching design feature is the laser cut notches that run along the length of the blade in 1/16” increments. These notches are the perfect size for scribing parallel lines along stock, and are double sided to accommodate either pushing or pulling the tool along a work piece when scribing. The clearly marked notches are arranged into two rows, the top including 1/8” increments, and 1/16” on the bottom. The blade also features larger notches at every inch mark.
Innovative Recalibration Feature is Quick and Easy. After years of daily use, or even a few nasty drops, it is possible that these squares will require recalibration to stay perfectly square. Both the 641SS and 1281SS are ingeniously designed to make adjusting the stainless steel blade a fast and intuitive process. This feature provides a quick solution for home recalibration, however, any Woodpeckers brand square can be sent back for free realignment.
A Variety of Ordering Options. Order the 12” or 6” squares separately, or choose the Deluxe set to get both squares at a savings. The 1281SS is perfect for bench layout work, while the 641SS fits perfectly into a shop apron, making it handy to check machines, stock and joinery. Both are available in metric as well.
