A beautifully crafted folding knife, the Shun Higonokami Steak/Gentleman’s Knife is based on a knife style first manufactured in 1896 in Meiji-era Japan and is considered to be the first Japanese pocketknife. Shun retained the traditional lever for easy one-handed opening, but refined the original design to include a locking liner that secures the blade open when in use, so it will not accidentally close and endanger the user’s fingers. The VG10 “super steel” hand-sharpened 16° double-bevel blade (32° comprehensive) is slim and razor-sharp, making it perfect as a personal steak knife. A handsome Pakkawood handle, inlaid with a mosaic crest, holds the blade. Open, the knife is 6" long; closed it is 3-1/2" and will fit easily into a suit pocket. Our Higonokami comes with a handsome leather sheath.
