This is a hand hammered saw made by some of the finest craftsman in the Hishika factory. The Ryoba saw is unique in the Japanese Saw line by having both cross-cut and rip teeth. The cross-cut side has 18 TPI and the rip teeth are progressively more coarse to the end (widest part) of the saw. The Hishika hand-made saws are unique in that the blade thickness is differentiated. It tapers towards the back to produce a friction-free stokes and the cleanest cut surfaces. This saw is not recommended for the beginner due to its very thin steel. The blades width tapers from 2-5/8" to 3-1/4".
