The unique feature of this gouge is that the blade tapers from the cutting edge to the shank, permitting greater flexibility and control when working in tight areas. An Outcannel Gouge is useful for most carving and for shaping curves on the necks of violins. Tool is razor-sharp, with approximately a #5 sweep. Blade length 2-1/2", with an overall length of 9-1/4".
