A group of professional chef's requested the maker of this knife to design and manufacture a blade suitable for slicing Western style breads, such as crusty french breads and crumbly whole grain breads. In addition to its slicing qualities, the blade was required to hold a long lasting edge impossible to obtain with western made knives. The blade is hand worked from high quality cutlery grade stainless steel and hand sharpened and polished to a razor edge. The indestructible Pakka wood handle is riveted to the blade. The blade length is 9-3/4" and the overall length is 15".
