Our Dovetail Chisels are used for working into restricted areas such as chopping dovetails. They have a thin, triangular cross sections which offers minimal resistance in tight cuts. Mr. Matsumura forges these chisels by hand from a combination of "white steel" and wrought iron. He then carefully tempers the blade to Rockwell c64ø to ensure a long lasting, razor sharp edge. The double hooped handles are hand-turned from the finest quality Akagashi (Japanese Red Oak.) Instructions for sharpening are included. Their overall length is 9˝ and their blade length is 2½˝.
