Product Information:

Former Product Id: 36.100.2480
The Vari-Grind Attachment will properly shape and maintain the edge on standard bowl gouges, the modern side grind shape and the traditional fingernail shape for spindle work detailing. Oneway has spent considerable time and effort to develop a system which will consistently produce sharp, repeatable geometries on turning tools. The Vari-Grind fits into the pocket of the Vee-Arm of the Wolverine Grinding Jig and allows complete control of your grind. Guide lines are etched on the flat, so you can quickly and accurately recreate the same grind. The results are cleaner cuts, and tools that are safer to use with longer lasting edges.

When turning coves, beads and other fine details, nothing beats a sharp fingernail profiled spindle gouge. For rapid internal hollowing or fast smooth external cuts on a bowl, nothing beats a side grind. However, because of the difficulty in producing these edges (both require rolling the tool edge and “swinging” the handle at the same time) most turners have never really enjoyed the benefits of a well ground gouge. Grinding difficult fingernail profiles on shallow spindle gouges and side grinds (also called Irish or long grinds) on deep fluted bowl gouges is quick and easy when you use the new Vari-Grind Fingernail/Side Grinding Jig. The Vari-Grind combines the “roll and swing” motion into one easily controlled movement that results in an edge so perfect you'll be amazed at how easily you formed it! We recommend using the Wolverine Grinding Jig or any other “V” arm system with the Wolverine for maximum control and perfect, repeatable fingernail and side grinds.
