Our
Safety Axe
is designed for use in emergency situations such as the aftermath of earthquakes, floods, etc. Where ever a strong cutting tool is required. Some Japanese car dealerships include the Safety Axe with the purchase of each automobile. It is also suited for splitting wood for camp fires. Mr. Tsuguo Abe is the last of a long line of blacksmiths specializing in hatchets and axes since before the 1830's. He hand forges each axe with a combination of hard high carbon white steel and low carbon soft steels. He is noted for his forging technique which creates a long lasting edge that is easy to resharpen. Blade width is 3˝; handle length is 15˝. And overall weight is 2¼ lbs. An edge cover is included. Our Safety Axe should be considered for inclusion in any emergency kit.
