Our Bamboo Hatchet is designed for harvesting and cutting bamboo up to 2½˝ diameter. You will find it equally useful for splitting wooden pins used in all fine joinery work. The blade is a hand forged triple lamination of high-carbon "white" steel and soft low-carbon steel. To ensure a long edge life during demanding use, each blade is individually heat treated and tempered to Rc 63. The blade is 1/8˝ thick and sharpened with a double bevel and has a Japanese white oak handle shaped for a firm grip. Blade length is 7½˝, and overall length is 13˝. A fabric scabbard with belt loop is included.
